Gerald Jarvis Jr

Gerald Jarvis, Jr. passed away on September 7, 2026, at the University of Vermont Medical Center after a period of declining health. He was born on July 1, 1960, in Burlington, Vermont.

Gerald will be remembered as a man who could do just about anything he set his mind to. A true jack of all trades, he worked in painting and auto mechanics, and those who knew him often said he could fix anything with a motor. He brought that same hands-on spirit to life, meeting challenges with skill, determination, and a practical kind of wisdom that made him someone others naturally turned to.

He also knew how to enjoy life in the ways that mattered most to him. Gerald loved fishing, four wheeling, and motorcycle riding, and he especially treasured spending time with his grandchildren. He had a playful spirit and a memorable sense of humor. A jokester at heart, he loved to make people laugh, and he was always ready with a joke, whether it was polished or not. That lightheartedness, and the warmth behind it, will remain part of how he is lovingly remembered.

Above all, Gerald’s life was rooted in family. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, and by his children, Gerald Jarvis, III, Mathew Jarvis, Beth Jarvis, and Megan Jarvis. He is also survived by his brothers Mickey Jarvis, Larry Jarvis, and Randy Jarvis, and by his sisters Brenda Jarvis and Tammy Jarvis. He leaves behind a family circle that will carry forward his memory, his laughter, and the many everyday moments that made him so dear.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Baker; his father, Gerald Jarvis, Sr.; his sister, Sandra Jarvis; and his brother, Steven Jarvis.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday September 11th, 2026 from 5:00PM- 8:00PM at the family's home located at 25 Shepardson Hollow Rd Fairfax, VT.

Gerald Jarvis, Jr. will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
