David Desilets

David Alcide Desilets, 60, of Milton Vermont, passed away on May 6, 2026. Born on April 16, 1966, in Burlington, Vermont, David lived a life full of passion and dedication to the things and people he loved.

David graduated from Milton High School and went on to build a career in drywall. He took immense pride in his work and was known for his exceptional talent and craftsmanship. His dedication to his trade reflected his broader approach to life—he never did anything halfway. Whether it was his work or his relationships or his hobbies. David gave everything he had with his whole heart.

David's life was rich with hobbies that brought him joy and adventure. He had a deep love for hunting and fishing, pursuits that connected him to the natural beauty of Vermont. In his younger years, he played hockey throughout school and later joined men's softball leagues as an adult. An avid snowboarder until an injury sidelined him, David also enjoyed golf, boating, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling. His enthusiasm for motorsports led him to spend time on pit crews at Airborne Speedway—a testament to his hands-on spirit and love for fast-paced challenges.

Animals held a special place in David's heart. He adored his dogs as if they were his children and had a general affection for all animals. His beloved dog Libby was by far one of the most important companions in his life.

David was well-known in his community and cherished by many. Those who knew him remember a man who lived life with intensity and purpose. If he cared about someone or something, he did so wholeheartedly. His warmth, hard work, and zest for life left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross paths with him.

David is survived by his loving mother, Norma Wells; daughter Chelsea Staples and her partner Bradley Lamore; granddaughter Raelyn Staples; grandson Theodore Lamore; son Thomas Desilets and his wife Krista Desilets; grandson Lincoln Desilets; granddaughter Natalie Desilets; sister Marie Johnson and her husband Ken Johnson; niece Kacey; nephews Chris and Nick; half-sisters Valerie Beauchemin, Karen Robert, and Laura McLaughlin; as well as three former wives: Tessa, Donna, and Lynn. He also leaves behind his loyal dog Libby whom is now residing with his daughter.

He was predeceased by his father Alcide Desilets and stepfather Donald "Pat" Wells.

David's memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. May those who knew him find comfort in remembering the vibrant life he led.
