Daniel Curtis Mead

Daniel Curtis Mead, affectionately known to many as Curt Mead, and to his brothers in the motorcycle community as “Buzz,” passed away the night of May 21st, 2026 at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont, with his loved ones by his side.

Curt was a proud biker and lifelong rider who found freedom on his Harley-Davidson’s and brotherhood within the Mountain Riders MC. Whether he was out on the open road or gathered with friends and family, Curt had a larger-than-life presence that people naturally gravitated toward. He was known for being the life of the party, always ready with a wild story, a laugh, or a memory that could keep everyone entertained for hours.

Above everything else, Curt loved his family. He cherished time spent with his sons and especially adored his grandchildren, Corbin, Charlie and Raena, who lovingly knew him as “Pop-pop.” The joy they brought him was unmatched.

Curt is survived by his sons, Curtis Mead, Ryan Mead, and Brian Vincent; his stepdaughter, Jordan Spear; his beloved grandchildren, Corbin, Charlie, and Raena; his brothers, Gary Giveans and Ron Giveans and his sisters, Shannan Fleury and Diana Giveans Fournia, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Curt was loved by many and unforgettable to all who knew him. He was fiercely loyal, deeply compassionate, and never afraid to speak his mind. His stories, laughter, and spirit will live on in the countless memories shared by those fortunate enough to have known him. Curt’s family asks that those who knew him honor his memory by celebrating the laughter, stories, adventures, and moments that he created throughout his life that makes him unforgettable. Keeping those memories alive is how his spirit will continue to live on.

A celebration of life will be arranged and announced by the family at a later date.
